Things you can buy at Chief Trading Post, part 1

A cabinet, some dusty glass bottles and bowls, cartwheels, a large Hindu frieze, some windchimes.

A variety of rocking horses.

A frightening statue.

You beat me to it. That is a very scary statue yet I can't quite figure out why. I think it has something to do with the colour.

The colour, the evil doll, and the terrifying mystery of the shushing gesture.

By the way, I'm breaking you in gently with this - you ain't seen nuthin' yet....

loving this place!! It's right in my taste too. I recently had a tiff with my wife when she refused to let me fill a large flower pot with large old plastic doll's heads with flowers growing out of their heads

Now we see why you hang around the joint, the set of Kama Sutra tablets tastefully spread around. Give us more, in Technicolour HD3D.

It would be fascinating to meet with some typical Victorians or Edwardians to ask their take on that "frightening" statue. I wonder whether they wouldn't see it as the epitome of childhood beauty and innocence, although possibly in need of a few smacks to build character.
