I think Bertie is closer to the Brit of ToE than the Churchillian image in your portrait. Do you have your own Jeeves or did an enemy steal him?
My enemies have all been vanquished.
I love the Wodehouse books. I like the BBC shows, but I think that the books are, as written, unfilmable. The problem is that Bertie is an idiot who writes like Wodehouse.
And Fry is too young to be Jeeves as written - but the two of them work very well in the series.(which is ITV Granada - a commerical station, rather than the BBC - to nitpick).
