Will this do?

An early contender for “Most Feeble Evolutionary Psychology Claim of 2010” here…

Pretty women 'anger more easily'

...The University of California interviewed 156 female students to gauge their temperament and how they handled conflict.

...In the study, the women who believed they were good looking were more likely to respond angrily in disputes than those who rated themselves as less attractive.
Attractive women also had higher expectations of what they deserved.

...The researchers believe the findings have an evolutionary basis, ensuring that the "fittest" people mate and have offspring.

What is even more funny is the Blessed Beebs attempts at political correctness.

We would not wish to offend other groups of women such as Blondes would we?

Personally I think they all went to the same school where This Guy tutors.

They could be onto something, watched the DVD 'The September Issue' last night, documentary about Vogue and in particular Anna Wintour. A concrete block thrown in this burdz face would come off second best, man she was awesome, frightening. Any male mating with her would be promptly eaten.

If only the fittest mate then where did AA Gill come from.

Feeble or bleeding obvious? Otherwise we'd all know someone dating a supermodel.

Sean, Lesbian Seagull reminds me of a poster that was on the classroom wall of a hippy, CND-supporting teacher of mine at school.

It had a picture of a seagull gliding through the air and bore the motto 'they can because they think they can'. Under which someone had scrawled 'and because they've got wings'.

Gaw - I refer to the BBC's evolutionary 'explanation' rather than the observation, whether that's bleedin' obvious or highly dubious.

This one is bizarre even on its own terms. Does it mean:
1) pretty women have more children than ugly women
2) therefore pretty women need an extra advantage of getting their own way in order to have more children? In which case surely ugly women would need the bolshiness gene more than pretty ones?

Or is the claim of "ensuring that the "fittest" people mate and have offspring" a statement of the crudest, dimmest misinterpretation of evolution - ie. Natural Selection as an independent magical force,

No, no, Brit, you aren't reading carefully enough. Natural Selection has gone pomo. It isn't pretty women who have the anger, it's women who see themselves as pretty. We all create our own fitness imperative.

less attractive women don't need a bolshiness gene, as they can circumvent the more attractive ones by being friendlier and sluttier. It always evens out in the end.

Thank goodness Gordo's on his way out, when he reads this he will double the child allowance for cracking burdz, ugly ones, nothing.
This on top of paying posh wimmen the same amount as the sink estate Sheila's.

So, ravishing posh burdz, get stuck in, plain poverty stricken types, have a bag of crisps.

Thomas Dolby was roughly twenty years ahead of the academics on this:

I buy her all the right clothes
and pretty jewels to wear
my friends say she's a dumb blonde
but they don't know she dyes her hair

she thinks the fighting in Central America's easily solved
but what to wear to Bel-Air premieres
is a problem she could never resolve...

she's an airhead
stungun and mace - Kharmann Ghia plates say "Lost in Space"
she's an airhead

thousands in trust - cusp Aquarius - get serious
she's an airhead
tinted contacts don't change the fact that black is black

she's an airhead
and while I'm impressed with the length of those legs
she's not an intellectual giant....

she'd like to model or maybe act
or start a magazine
before she signs any contracts
I think she better learn to read
but in her dreams she's the queen of the fashion regime...

you ask me do I love you...
does the pope live in the woods?
quod erat demonstrandum, baby.
(ooo you speak French)

she's an airhead
stungun and mace - Kharmann Ghia plates say "Lost in Space"
she's an airhead

thousands in trust - cusp Aquarius - get serious
she's an airhead
tinted contacts don't change the fact that black is black
she's an airhead

and while I'm impressed with the size of her chest
she's not an intellectual giant....

sweet and low and oh-so
little Ms. Dora Jarre
safe sex and fishnets
and could you walk me to my car

she's losing faith in a world that is out of control
so she's gonna nix politics,
she's taking up volleyball! volleyball! why?

she's an airhead
stungun and mace - Kharmann Ghia plates say "Lost in Space"
she's an airhead
thousands in trust - cusp Aquarius - get serious
she's an airhead

and now the time's come for the end of my song,
don't get me wrong
if she's an airhead it has to be said
it was men made her that way
it was us made her that way
it was us made her that way!

I think the people who say it's learned behavior are on to something. Beautiful people learn all their lives: special behavior. They learn to get it, they learn they deserve it, they learn to expect it.

And damn it, when I don't get it I'm PISSED!

arg! I meant "special treatment." But the same point applies.
