Road to nowhere

I was on the road yesterday. Leicester via Swindon. I suppose that Leicester via Swindon could well be the least interesting-sounding journey I'll ever make (though I still harbour ambitions of Hull via Slough).

I'm afraid you immediately interested me as you could have gone via the very ancient (Roman at least) Fosse Way (picking it up via the dual carriageway to Cirencester).

A very pleasant drive up the spine of the Cotswolds and probably no slower than using the more circuitous M-way.

Ah, could have gone the Fosse Way (the A429 I believe) but in fact went the A420 to pick up the Ms, the most interesting feature of which was a very long hold up due to temporary traffic lights at Buckland. Oh well.

yep - exactly what Gaw said!! The fosse way is quite interesting, I use it all the time to get from warwick down to cirencester, it's a cool little route

Perhaps the Fosse Way is worth a Dabble?
