Mrs Brit was browsing Amazon for a suitable satnav USB cable - an innocuous enough object, you'd think - when she stumbled across this amusingly vitriolic customer review.
There but for the Grace. In this world of pain and tears - narrow as a knife-edge, fragile as an eggshell - one never knows what trivial event might prove to be the Tipping Point, what seemingly negligible happenstance might have Your proverbial Name On It. For this man, it was the email from Amazon requesting him to review his recent purchase of a satnav USB cable. My favourite bit: "I am not angry, just getting even."
excellent! One man's impotent rage unleashed. I had a period of putting spoof reviews up on amazon, but stopped when I realised that nobody actually realised they were spoofs
ReplyDeleteThe man was so lacking in spacial awareness that he was incapable of carrying out an engineering review of the product and took his frustration out on the supplier, sounds familiar.
ReplyDeleteHe could simply have said that as a communication tool connecting peripheral devices to a computer via either serial or parallel data transfer utilising cable, the product was satisfactory and met the required specification.
The lack of spacial awareness has reached epidemic proportions, I blame the Southerners and AA Gill.
special? spatial? or am I lacking something? Great to have a good rant once in a while...
ReplyDeleteDid your wife feel it as an affront to her map-reading skills that you wanted a sat-nav in the forst place? She should program the thing to ask "Was this Direction Helpful to You?" every two minutes, then you'd throw the thing out of the car window and domestic harmony would be restored ;-)
ReplyDeleteI found a great deal of useful material here!
